This is the best avocado toast recipe; it is excellent for breakfast and lunch! 

Avocados are creamy with a flavor that blends nuttiness, sweetness, and butteriness into one bite. Add them to steak, eggs, and good bread; you can’t go wrong. 

Is it Ripe?

It is no secret that the avocado sitting in the kitchen can go from underripe to overripe in what seems like hours. Unripe avocados are bitter, so how do you know if it’s ripe?

Begin with a squeeze. A ripe avocado has a slight yield, but it’s not mushy.  

If the avocado is bright green, it’s underripe, while dark green-black is ripened to perfection. 

Lift the stem. One that comes off easily is ripe. Like the fruit husk, bright green stems also indicate an underripe avocado.

Absolutely! Avocados are rich in healthy fats, potassium, fiber, and Vitamins C, E, and K. They can promote healthy digestion and increase good cholesterol. They may improve the elasticity of your skin, too.

  1. Spread olive oil all over the skirt steak 
  2. Sprinkle Cuso’s Cowboy Butter Seasoning on both sides liberally
  3. Sear quickly over hot wood (mesquite, oak, or hickory)
  4. Slice into ½” pieces and set aside
  5. Pour the avocado oil into an oven-proof container, heating it to 150F
  6. Drop in the egg yokes
  7. Cook at 150F for 20 minutes
  8. Slice and toast the bread (sandwich style)
  9. Smush up a ripe avocado and spread it over the toast on one side
  10. Layer the steak pieces on top
  11. Crown with egg yokes (2 per slice)
  12. Serve open-face, or add a slice of toasted bread on top
  13. If you would like a little heat, us tabasco
